GALVESTON, HOUSTON, 6/4/12 - 6/612

Richmond CH - oops!  We thought the old one was it, but it's apparently empty and not in use anymore, now that Richmond has this one.  2011.

Galveston CH - 2006.
Architects: Bay Architects
The older courthouse from the 1960's was built in the same spot as the historic one that no longer exists!

We stayed in the Holiday Inn on Seawall, ate at Casey's (awful) and Ben & Jerry's for dessert.  We took wine out to the beach and watched the moon and the waves.
The following day we had lunch at the Olympia Grill, which was terrific!

Houston Criminal CH - 1953.
Architects: unknown

Houston Civil CH - 2006.
Architects: unknown

Old Houston CH, still used for appeals, 1910.  Newly restored and GORGEOUS inside.

We walked from the Saint Arnold's Brewery to the courthouses, then to the Museum of Natural Science and took the rail back the courthouses.  We walked back to Saint Arnold's, met a friend there for flights of beers and went to dinner at the Onion Creek Grill.
