La Grange courthouse, Dec. 17, 2010

La Grange jail - now the county museum.  We hadn't yet decided to do this project and only valued the jail as the tourist information site that it advertised itself.  However, it definitely played a role in our decision to do this project!

La Grange courthouse, 1891, all decked out for Christmas!
Architect: James Reilly Gordon

Inside the La Grange courthouse.  We still haven't seen a fountain or interior like this one.

We went to La Grange for the Trail of Lights at the Kreische Brewery (Texas' first brewery) / Monument Hill State Park and to see the Old City Cemetery (fabulous!).  The Austin Trail of Lights was cancelled for the first time in years, due to budget cuts, so we thought we'd try something new.  We had a lovely dinner at Bistro 108 and decided then and there to start "collecting" county courthouses!
